<p>Above is a <a href="http://slideshare.com">slideshare</a> presentation about new ideas about the human brain and what that might mean for teaching. The last slide in the presentation lists the books upon which it is based. The two that I&#8217;ve read previously and which were thought-provoking are <a href="http://www.brainrules.net/"Brainrules></a> and <a href="http://www.heathbrothers.com/madetostick/">Made to Stick</a>.</p>
<p>An unreflective response to much of these ideas is that a big part of applying them in day-to-day classroom teaching is the ability of the teacher to decide what to teach. I rarely feel like I have the power to decide what to teach on the scale that would make a difference.</p>
